AGNEL JAN KALYAN KENDRA

AJKK strives towards poverty alleviation, through participatory enterprise,  health care, skill training,  livelihood education for life and livelihood, and employment generation of  the marginalized through people’s participation.

Agnel Jan Kalyan Kendra is a movement, an idea that wells up, from deep within us, and calls each of us to share what we have, so that our life becomes purposeful, and worth living.  Here, at Agnel Jan Kalyan Kendra, we help each other to grow into that consciousness that drives us to look beyond ourselves and to reach out in  solidarity with the marginalized through empowerment and livelihood education. This is not an outfit or organization but a movement that invites all to participate and welcomes each who would like to share with others because he or she is provided with.

WHAT WE DO

Poverty is the world’s harshest form of oppression. The poor are deprived of nutrition, security, opportunities, livelihood, education, human dignity and hope.To these oppressions we can add the caste system, religious discrimination and other social taboos that  have been legitimized in our society.

Vision And Mission

Poverty and inequality may or may not be man made,  but mankind can and must address it, as an essential feature of its sense of identity, of being human. There is no justification for remaining indifferent to the plight  of people around us, who  live in   sub-human conditions of poverty and  ignorance, without any opportunity or  apparent hope.

The Lives we change

The Khodda village, with its extended population in the form of Khodda colony, primarily was earlier a village  which has transformed into a town over a period of time due to its proximity to National Capital Region and two industrial cities i.e. Noida and Ghaziabad. The location at the border is one of the crucial reasons why it became a favourite place for migrant population to settle as this provides access to job opportunities and markets of all the three cities.

Facilities

Agnel Jan Kalyan has impacted the community substantially, as it is evident from the significant demand it has for admission to the mainstream education facilities which at present count 600.  There is increasing demand each day for more admissions.  Since Khodda colony is overwhelmingly populated  by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Class  Population as well as the OBCs and a large population of Muslims the centre impacts the lives of the most vulnerable.
